Sanitary Engineering Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide dependable, safe drinking water, sanitary sewer, and solid waste services and solutions for the citizens of Miami County.
This department is here to serve the residents of Miami County. There are 2200 water and wastewater customers that are not served by any other municipality.
The solid waste division has had many changes since becoming the Garbage and Refuse District. Previously, there was an open landfill behind the current facility. The next phase was when the trash was incinerated. After tougher OEPA air regulations were established, a transfer station was built to handle Miami County’s waste beginning in 1998.
